The Food Foundations Program has been the leading food and nutrition program for early years settings in QLD for over 25 years. Our team of dietitians, nutritionists and health promotion officers are the experts in providing nutrition and food safety information for staff, parents and children.
Subscribers to our Food Foundations program stay up to date with the latest relevant nutrition and food safety information through our e-newsletters, online resources, telephone and email enquiry lines and workshops/presentations.
The Food Foundations subscription program supports Early Childhood Education and Care settings to stay informed of best practice in early years nutrition, research and policy around food and nutrition in the early years, and provides resources and recipes to support your service.
Our team of Dietitians provide professional development and training designed for educators working in early childhood settings (Long Day Care, Family Day Care, Kindergartens) that either provide food for children or where parents provide food. Most of our workshops can be delivered in person or virtually.
We offer self-paced food safety and nutrition training options online through our partner In Safe Hands. These online training options are specifically designed for those working in early years settings, and include food safety, nutrition, and understanding food allergies and intolerances.
Our menu reviews are linked to the Australian Dietary Guidelines & the NQS. They are completed by Accredited Practising Dietitians with experienced in the early years sector. We offer 3 levels of menu reviews.
Subscribers have access to exclusive factsheets, posters, tools and recipes. Recipes serve 20 children and display the amount of food groups provided per serve. We also have lunchbox recipes for centres where families provide food.
We also provide a variety of early years focused resources that are freely available to the community. This includes factsheets, posters, and videos on nutrition for babies and children up to 5 years of age.
